Talent manager Bernie Cahill drops $5 million next door to Robert Herjavec

Yolanda apologizes for being AWOL the past couple days. You see, we were chompin’ away at a big plate of our gurl Martha’s famous (and Snoop Dogg-endorsed) bacon-cheddar grits on Saturday when we wondered why they tasted like asphalt! And then we realized all our teeth were gone. Yes, Martha’s grits knocked our socks off and our teeth out. But don’t blame that on her. Yolanda re-read the packaging and we realized it said “microwave for 4 minutes”! We actually did it for, like, four hours. Oops! That’ll teach us to read the directions without our spectacles. Now $6,000 and a full set of new veneers later and here we are, back again and good as new.

Anyway, last time here we wrote about Canadian-Croatian entrepreneur turned reality TV star Robert Herjavec and his fancy house in the celebrified Outpost Estates neighborhood of the Hollywood Hills, which he recently bought from an Olympic gold medalist turned successful entrepreneur and allegedly kinky sex-lovin’ fellow named Shaun White.

Whew! That was a mouthful.

Anyway, Mr. Herjavec used an anonymously-named blind trust to acquire the property. While writing about the house, we did some checking up on the neighbors and were intrigued to discover that the house next door — while significantly smaller and much less flashy — was recently sold to a different and no less mysterious blind trust that has all the hallmarks of celebrity.

Yolanda did a little digging and it wasn’t long before we discovered that Mr. Herjavec’s new next door neighbor is a prominent talent manager named Bernie Cahill. In addition to a multitude of other high-profile clients, he manages the Zac Brown Band, the Grateful Dead, and the Hemsworth brothers through his ROAR, LLC firm, which has several dozen employees and space in Beverly Hills. Obviously, Mr. Cahill has a lot of moolah and a pricey new house, so we thought we’d do a quick post on him today. Here goes.

Mr. Cahill & Ms. Murray

Oh, by the way, it was Mr. Cahill’s romances that originally attracted him much media attention. Though he was in a long-term relationship with ol’ crazy fiddlin’ fishsticks herself (Sharon Stone), but they broke up sometime in the mid-2000s. Our Mr. Cahill is now happily married (since 2014) to Dexter actress Jaime Murray. Belated congrats! But anywho.

The hillside lot spans slightly more than a third of an acre and includes a generous motorcourt in addition to a two-car garage. Though relatively close to the street, the house itself is set behind a motorized metal fence and thick hedge for maximum privacy. Though a mid-century, the home appears to have been updated extensively in proceeding decades (for better or worse). Yolanda likes the somewhat-forbidding front facade but that dumpy rear view leaves us feeling blue. (Is this the house version of Kim Kardashian)?

Mr. Cahill paid a fat $4,967,000 for the 3,471-square-foot abode. Unfortunately, y’all, current listing materials do not include any photographs of the home’s interior. But indications from when it was on the market in previous years show that it has a recently-redone open floorplan with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on the main floor. The home’s entire second story is a luxuriously done-up master suite with a fireplace, two walk-in closets, and a private balcony overlooking the western Hollywood Hills and down to Century City. Additionally, there are a whole bunch of fancy upgrades: French white oak wide plank hardwood floors, Carrara marble countertops, Viking appliances, a Bertazzoni range, and a wine cellar/room done in walls of glass.

The backyard is actually fairly large for a home in the jam-packed hills of Hollywood and includes a well-watered lawn and stone pavers leading down to a simple rectangular pool and large concrete patio area. There’s also a solo palm tree to give off a bit of that California dreamin’ vibe. Know what we mean? No? Well, whatever.

In addition to Mr. Herjavec, some of the Murray-Cahill couple’s new neighbors on the same dead-end street include actor Kyle Maclachlan and the high-paid musician/DJ known as Zedd.

Mr. Cahill and Ms. Murray moved to their new Outpost Estates home from the venerable Franklin Towers condo complex in the heart of Hollywood. Records indicate that Mr. Cahill bought his  high-floor unit (photos above) in September 2013 for $979,500, thoroughly modernized it, and sold the pad just a few weeks ago (in September 2017) for $1,550,000 to a well-off but not famous buyer.
